Supported by the Government of Burgenland and the Mobility Centre, the campaign highlighted cycling practicality for trips, boosting awareness and joy through a unique, community-centered approach.
This practice is highly relevant for other regions as it combines sustainability, culture and community engagement in a unique way. By integrating cycling with live music, the tour made promoting sustainable mobility fun and relatable, reaching diverse audiences beyond traditional advocacy methods.
It showcased how bicycles can serve both as transportation and a platform for creativity, highlighting their versatility and environmental benefits. The tour demonstrated the power of grassroots engagement by involving local communities directly, creating a sense of ownership and excitement. The use of bikes to transport instruments and equipment over long distances proved the feasibility of cycling for everyday purposes, even for logistical challenges.
Other regions can adopt this model to promote cycling, adapt it to their cultural context and combine mobility advocacy with creative, engaging experiences to foster sustainable behavior change.
